4th gear in my transmission is slowly dying. It will slip a bit before grabbing. I had a check engine light trigger from it, so I parked it until the dealership could look at it. I fired it up this morning, and the light was off. I could still feel 4th slipping, but there was nothing to back up my statement. The dealer pulled the codes, and it had cleared itself out. They promised to try driving it tomorrow once the snow is plowed, but don't know what they can do aside from charge me for looking at it if it won't trip the code again. I told them the truck isn't getting picked up until they fix it. I'm not paying for multiple diagnostic fees because a stupid light decided to turn off. They are going to take it for a test drive once the snow is plowed. If they follow my directions, it should be obvious to a tech that 4th is having a bad day. At least they are smart enough to wait since my truck is only slightly better than a unicycle in snow.
Thanks for listening. Have an Evo doing rally stuff.

I SO love the stereotypes, because each one of them is based on truth.

That random noise and I go way back. I burned close to a week of vacation time getting the right person to hear it at the dealership. I finally got it fixed (bad water pump), only to have the replacement go bad 6 months later. I repeated the process again. 6 months later, it failed a third time. I gave up and sold that truck.
